1.  To select, evaluate and acquire library materials in varied formats to meet and respond to the needs of our diverse community.

2. To promote literacy and disseminate useful daily information to the people and encourage lifelong learning through its reading materials and resources.

3. To provide opportunity, ensuring freedom and equal access to information for all members of the community, to educate and enlighten them.

4.  To maintain and preserve books, materials and resources with historical, cultural, social, economic and archival value, and other related materials in an organized collection to provide members of the community these materials and enriched their personal and professional lives.

5. To provide materials and resources that entertain and inspire as well as services offering space for people and information to come together, and programs that would create library awareness and consciousness.

 

  • To provide support to select, acquire, preserve and disseminate relevant and latest information to users.

  • To preserve and conserve the knowledge embedded in the books, periodicals, news papers and e-resources.

  • To supply the latest information to all specialties in their respective field.

  • To ensure quality information retrieval.

  • To provide ICT (Information Communication Technology) service/s to all users through ETH Digital Campus Software.

  • To assist users through reference service.

 

  1. The Students must carry their College Identity Card/library membership card with them at all time inside the Library. Show the Identity Card compulsory at the time of books check-out/check-in (whenever asked by the library staff).

  2. At a time only One Book issued on Library Borrower Id for Students.

  3. All readers are required to maintain perfect silence and discipline in the library.

  4. Library users should enter his/her name, course time-in and time-out in register kept at the entrance.

  5. All personal belongings, such as books, bag, coat, umbrella, personal files, Xerox material that do not belong to the library must be deposited in the library counter at the entrance of the library.

  6. Library cards are not transferable: The borrower card holders should come personally to borrow the books and the authorization is not allowed.

  7. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource. Books Borrowed should be protected from RAIN, F IRE, DUST, INSECT, etc.

  8. Strict discipline should be maintained in the library. The position of the chairs and tables should not be changed or displaced.

  9. Beverages and eatables are not allowed inside the library. Smoking is not permitted in the library. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the library.

  10. No reader is allowed to sleep in the library premises.

  11. Reference books, rare books, unbound periodicals and books of fine arts may not be issued generally except with the written permission of the Librarian.

Limitations of Books for Faculty and Students

  1. Students can borrow one book at a time for seven days.

  2. Talent Club students can borrow one more book for seven days.

  3. Full-time teaching faculty can borrow at a time five to fifteen books for their teaching and research purpose till term end.

  4. The library advisory committee may suggest the limitation of books to faculty and Students on the basis of available library collection.

  5. Book Bank books can be issued as per Book Bank scheme norms/the availability of books. The discretionary powers are given to the librarian by the Library Advisory Committee.

Library is the heart of the institution providing adequate services to the users. It supports students & staff to fulfill their goals.

The library has 8920 books & 27 periodicals. Database of e-Journals and e-books (N-LIST) is subscribed. Staff and students are provided access both in-house and remote to these e-journals and e-books through User Id & Password.

*The formation of the Library Advisory Committee is an      

   important task in any library.

  • Funcltions of Library Advisory Commitee are as follow.

i. It shall normally meet in the beginning of the academic

    year.
ii.  To provide general direction to the Library.
iii. To review the functioning of the library with regards to its

     support to theacademic programmes of the institute.
iv. To outline the library collection and development policy as

     and when required, in its implementation.
v. To monitor and evaluate the trends and developments in

     information technologies, networking, library automation,

     library cooperation, Library timings etc., and to direct the 

     library in their day to day function.
vi. To suggest ways and means to generate revenue from

      library resources.
vii. To formulate action plan for the development of library

      infrastructure, facilities,products and services.
viii. Evaluate the suggestions offered by the library users.
ix. To formulate the policy for library use and procedure to be

     followed.
x. To assist library in providing need based information

     services.
xi. To assess the requirements of the new programmes

     being introduced and advice the authority of library about

     financial status to be improved.
xii. Estimating the books procurement and allocation of

      budget accordingly.
xiii. To assist in stock verification, Weed out/Write off from

      the library stock
